Even though that is the age of digital photography, one can still buy digital cameras that utilize film, which is what the likes of photography enthusiasts sometimes do. The key question would be to ask why it is beneficial to use digital photography. What are the advantages of photography over the ordinary film camera? You'll still find that many people prefer utilizing film, not simply because they do not know any better but simply because they just haven't taken the time to weigh the advantages or are unfamiliar with modern technology, just as much as the individual who is frightened of computer systems. Everything new and different is scary for some people however to make things simpler for those individuals it is very important to look at the advantages of one over another.
Prior to the era of digital photography many people lost beautiful pictures simply because they failed to take the film to be developed or lost the film until it was too old to guarantee quality processing. Keep in mind that film is just good for a limited time period so if you misplace the used film or don't take it for processing in a specific time, you'll lose some of the quality of the pictures. Together with digital photography there is never a worry about the film expiring because there's no film. There is no need to be concerned about processing the pictures within a specific time period because you can take the memory card at any time to get printed images or you could download the memory card to your PC and print your very own photographs anytime you so wish.
An additional advantage of digital photography is being able to view the picture before you print this. Often times with film cameras the lighting was not right or we failed to focus properly and the image was fuzzy or otherwise distorted. With digital photography you can see the image right then and if it isn't perfect, you could delete that image and begin again. This avoids the disappointment of losing a perfectly good pose due to focusing or direct exposure issues. Additionally you don't have to take extra shots simply to make sure one of these comes out the way you are expecting.
Digital photography has made photograph taking for both amateurs and also professionals simpler. Even professional images could be supplied quicker due to digital photography and permit the customer to see and choose the pictures almost instantly rather than needing to wait days for proofs and then another full week or two for the images themselves.
